*Layering Post* with Sally Hansen's 'Aisle Be There'

Hello Readers!

So, today I have China Glaze 'Pelican Gray' layered with Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength 'Aisle Be There'. This is a really subtle and pretty combination. CG's 'Pelican Gray' is a soft warm gray with a slight silver, blue and purple shimmer. SH's 'Aisle Be There' has a clear base with fine fuchsia/purple holographic glitter.

I'm trying different cameras and lighting so bare with me on perfecting my pictures and style! All suggestions are WELCOME! There are 2 coats of CG and 1 coat of SH shown below.

So, what do you guys think? Sally Hansen has some new pretty glitters that I just died over this evening! Excuse the nubs, I know the shape isn't perfect either but I'll get them fixed up as they grow out!

Bridget

Rescue Beauty Lounge 'Killa Red'

Hello Readers!

So, today I have Rescue Beauty Lounge 'Killa Red' and I must say it is killer! This is a color that's hard to capture because it's jelly red; depending on the light it can appear to be a bright cool cherry red or a deep maroon.

Photos are taken in my new light box (yay!) with the most neutral lighting I could use to show you this color. All photos are taken with 2 coats of RBL Killa Red, 1 coat of French Tip Dip's top coat, and 1 coat of Essie 'Pure Pearlfection' on my ring finger.

I love how RBL's very own Ji leaves her sig on all the limited edition polishes

Me trying to show how the polish changes to a dark deep red with less light/shade

So, if you ladies don't already know Rescue Beauty Lounge has brought back their vintage RBL's that include Killa Red. You can purchase these '5 free' polishes here. They're $18 and $100 gets you free shipping. What do you ladies think? Do you own this color? If you do, do these photos show the color accurately?

Bridget

Rescue Beauty Lounge 'Catherine'

Hello Readers!

So, I had an AMAZING Christmas and wanted to share with you some of the gorgeous polishes that I received. Today, I've swatched Rescue Beauty Lounge's 'Catherine'. I'd describe it as deep muted purple-silver pearl with bright purple and bright teal shimmers. I'm not a huge purple fan but this is right up my alley!

Now, here are the photos I took with my new photo box! I used the camera with my iPhone 4S (I plan on using a 'real' camera soon!).

Rescue Beauty Lounge's very own Ji leaves her signature on limited edition polishes :o)

I'll be working on better pictures, I can't really zoom and get the clarity like I want with the phone (as great as the camera is on the iPhone 4S). What do you guys think of this color, do you own it? If you love this then you need Anne and Catherine H.!

Cheers,
Bridget

24 Days of Christmas Nails - Day 9: Red/Green

Hey Ladies,

I'm SUPER excited to participate in '24 Days of Christmas Nails' with both Sabine from My Polish Stash and Shannara from Nails and Stuff so don't forget to check out their nails as well!

This idea was started by Paint that Nail so props to her. ^_^

As a side note - my nails were getting SO frail I couldn't stand it any longer so I cut them down... yes now I have 5 year old hands ;o\ but they needed to be cut!

Here is my 'Red/Green' design:

So, I decided to just use all greens and reds with nothing too crazy, I added tips later because I got bored. Starting today I'm on vacation so I SHOULD (in theory) have more time to spend time on this challenge. The colors I used are from my pinky nail to my thumb, China Glaze 'Glittering Garland', Sephora by OPI 'Sample Sale', ULTA 'Jaded' with China Glaze 'White Cap' on top, China Glaze 'Ruby Pumps, and Zoya 'Gemma'.

Hey Ladies,

I'm SUPER excited to participate in '24 Days of Christmas Nails' with both Sabine from My Polish Stash and Shannara from Nails and Stuff so don't forget to check out their nails as well!

This idea was started by Paint that Nail so props to her. ^_^

Here is my 'Penguins' design (I did one, so no plural here :o):

I wanted him to look more like a cartoon lol
He kinda looks like he's on drugs
I apologize once again for the short nails and crappy pictures! I have finals, work and a short vacation coming up. Although, on vacation I'll have time to do my nails! Ok, so my original idea was to make kind of a funny looking cartoon penguin. I only spent 5 minutes (all I had) so sorry for the 'not so neat' painting job. I'll be making up for it soon, I promise! I used Wet N' Wild 'Black Crème', China Glaze 'Lorelei's Tiara', Essie 'Chubby Cheeks', OPI 'What's With The Cattitude?', Essie 'Coat Azure', Pure ICE 'Super Star', and Sinful Colors '24/7'.

Hope you all enjoyed this design! Don't forget to check out Sabine's design from My Polish Stash and Shannara's design from Nails and Stuff !!!

Hope you all enjoyed this design! My intent was to make this a snowman at night, that's why he's gray, the orange isn't too bright and the background is a dark gray-blue shade.

24 Days of Christmas Nails - Day 2: Snowflakes

Hey Ladies,

I'm SUPER excited to participate in '24 Days of Christmas Nails' with both Sabine from My Polish Stash and Shannara from Nails and Stuff so
don't forget to check out their nails as well!

This idea was started by Paint that Nail so props to her. ^_^

Here is my 'Snowflakes' design:

From left to right:  Pure ICE 'Super Star', OPI 'DS Coronation', Revlon 'Downtown'

My secret revealed; snowflake stickers used as stencils!

Illamasqua 'Raindrops' added for a more muted look; in natural shade

Illamasqua 'Raindrops' added for a more muted look; in sunlight

So, what do you guys think?! I have been collecting stickers for nearly 25 years (yes, this is true!) and have many that have these cut out designs. The three things to remember are:  1) make sure your base color is dry to the touch, and 2) make sure you don't glop on the paint, it will bleed over the design, and 3) make sure you peel the sticker off just after you're done painting the nail. I like to sort of lightly lift up all the sides (so it's not stuck on your finger) and then lightly pull it off from one side.

Hope you all enjoyed this design! Don't forget to check out Sabine's design from My Polish Stash and Shannara's design from Nails and Stuff !!!

Cheers,
Bridget
