OPI 'Step Right Up' with Nabi 'Coffee' Crackle

Hello Readers,

I don't know what got into me today but I started off with OPI 'Step Right Up' which is a very pretty pale pink that covers perfectly in 3 coats. The trick to this polish is to use as light and few strokes as possible to prevent streaking. I then thought about some sort of glitter but didn't want the hassle of removing it (even with the aluminum foil method it still takes time... and I wasn't having it today lol). So, I put a coat of Nabi's 'Coffee' crackle polish. Now, the name of this color does NOT accurately describe the shade. It's almost a dark mauve with brown undertones.

Now for the photos...

I think this really shows the color of the crackle

Me trying to show the color against pinks, purples, etc. ^_^

So, what do you guys think? Is crackle completely dead and out of trend or is something more muted like this still ok? lol You won't hurt my feelings, I bought some of these type of colors a while ago but never wore them. I really like this color! Hope you enjoyed my post for today!

Cheers,
Bridget

I'm a little bit over the old crackles but I still like to see different colors like this, more subtle and unique.

I like those two colors together. I haven't done any crackles in a while. But, gosh, I do have a lot of them!

This is a great combo!! I've never been into crackle, so it's not my thing, but I like how this looks... I think because of the colors you chose.

I'm still unsure whether I like crackle, I sort of did then didn't but this colour combo looks beautiful on you Bridget, maybe I need more subtle colours in crackle!!

I'm not a huge fan of crackles in general, but some of them look quite nice! I think a lot depends on the skill of the application - crackle tends to look sloppy unless it's perfectly done!

Having said that, I don't see myself buying a lot of crackles in the future.

With all of the crackle polish that has come out I'm kind of crackled out, but it's nice to see colors of crackle that I haven't come across yet.

My email is tarauhase@yahoo.com for your giveaway.

Phedre - I agree, this brand has one of the thickest crackles so you really have to work quick and with thin coats.

Amanda - Thanks, sweetie! I hope to get an ACTUAL camera soon... the phone is great but... it's not where I want to be!

Tara - Don't get me wrong I haven't done the crackle thing in a while, I just thought I'd try this out and see what the responses would be. So far there what I'd thought 'pretty color but ehh' and I took it off today ;o)
