China Glaze 'TTYL'

Hello Ladies!

Tonight, I have China Glaze 'TTYL' from the OMG holographic collection. The polishes from this collection are considered htf (hard to find) and range from say $12-$35 on eBay or wherever you can find them. This color looks like smooth silk indoors but outside the fine holographic effect blinds you!

On to the photos!...

China Glaze 'TTYL' in direct natural sunlight (oooOOOo ahhh! :o)

China Glaze 'TTYL' in 1/2 direct sunlight 1/2 shade

I'd describe this color as a combination of a rose and coral. In some lights it appears to be rose-purple and sometimes it has a hint of orange/coral.  It's a very wearable shade with a surprise in the sun! What do you guys think? Do you have any other colors you really like from the OMG collection?

Bridget

*Layering Post* with Sally Hansen's 'Glass Slipper'

Hello Ladies,

Today, I have an interesting layering experiment with Cult Nails 'Power Thief' and Sally Hansen's 'Glass Slipper'. It will be a pretty quick post today (sorry, been very busy) so on with the pictures!

Needless to say, in the U.S. you guys can find this new Sally Hansen polish at any drugstore. And the lovely Cult Nails polishes can be found on their website here. Also, don't miss out on their pre-sale for the new 'Lets Get Nekkid' collection that ends February 1st!

Sorry for my boo boo nail lol, he's much shorter than the others right now

The flakes have an almost cool white silvery appearance

As good of a close up as I can get ;o)

So, what do you guys think? Too weird or kinda neat? I think it kind of looks like a combination of shredded coconut and Laquistry's 'Mini Marshmallows' custom made nail polish that can be found here in her Etsy shop.

Until next time...

Cheers,
Bridget

MAC 'Blue Sprinkles'

Hello Beautiful Girls!

Today, I have a quick post featuring MAC 'Blue Sprinkles'. I'd describe this color as a sheer molten silver cool lavender shimmer with fine lavender glitter and square reddish-copper glitter. It's really different! This polish is a 'htf' (hard to find) polish and I honestly can't say what it's going for these days in terms of a dollar amount. With all the craziness on eBay who knows if we'll see it for over $100 some day! This is a very thin sheer polish and I used 3 coats for it to be completely opaque.

Bottle Shot...
Haha! Yes, I used my right hand because of my broken middle
finger nail on my left hand. It was quite awkward trying to figure out
how to hold the bottle! ;o)~
 The polish...
Excuse the sloppy job, this was a last minute mani!
All in all I could easily part with it as I'm pretty disappointed in both the overall color and formula of this polish. I have a few other MAC polishes and their formulas and colors are all amazing so this one was quite a shock for me. Soooo... if anyone wants to do a trade let me know! ^_^

Cheers,
Bridget

I ♥ Nude Shades!

Hello Pretty Ladies!

Today, I thought I'd do a little comparison post of 5 of my favorite nude/neutral taupe shades. I did 2 coats of each color and added a topcoat at the end.

All the polishes used...
From L-R:  Color Club 'Love 'Em/Leave 'Em', butter London 'All Hail The Queen', butter London 'Yummy Mummy', Cult Nails 'Crusin' Nude', & Priti NYC 'Mushroom Flower'
 On my nails...

On my nails with cooler lighting...

With flash...

My take on these colors:
  • Color Club 'Love 'Em/Leave 'Em' - A warm tawny taupe with a holographic packed shimmer
  • butter London 'All Hail The Queen' - A slightly cool toned taupe with a slight holographic shimmer and hot pink overtone
  • butter London 'Yummy Mummy' - A cool toned nude/taupe with a very fine silver, pink, and blue-green shimmer
  • Cult Nails 'Crusin' Nude' - A cool (more greenish) toned nude/taupe with a pinkish purple shimmer.
  • Priti NYC Polish 'Mushroom Flower' - A warm toned nude/taupe with a fine silver, pink, and blue-green shimmer. I'd say this is similar to bL 'Yummy Mummy' only the color is warmer and the shimmer isn't as fine.

So, what do you ladies think? What's your favorite nude shade?

Cheers,

Bridget

Priti NYC Polish 'Lambstail Cactus'

Hello Pretty Ladies!

A while ago I had purchased some polishes from Priti NYC Polish company. I am so excited to share this brand with you because their colors are very unique not to mention they cover very well. Today, I have 'Lambstail Cactus' for you. I would describe it as a dark warm grayish brown black with a slight holo / finely packed silver shimmer. Basically, I'd say it's a cross between OPI 'My Private Jet' and Color Club 'Revvolution'. There are bottle shots below so you can compare the three.

Pretty cool right? I will tell you the CC is much cooler and has a much more apparent holographic effect. The Priti is definitely in the middle in terms of warmness/coolness. OPI has an additional sort of orange hue to it with a chunkier shimmer to it which makes it different.

You can get Priti NYC polishes on their website or Amazon. Their polishes are $12.50 and in my opinion well worth the cost. What do you ladies think? ^_^

Bridget

Cult Nails 'Time Traveler' & 'My Kind of Cool Aid'

Hello Ladies,

Well, there's a first time for everything, right? I decided to try my hand at stamping! I had bought a few Konad plates a while ago but never used them. I started out with 2 coats of Cult Nail's 'My Kind Of Cool Aid' then used the tiny floral print design from the Konad m71 plate using Cult Nail's 'Time Traveler'. I finished the design with 'Out The Door' topcoat.

The colors I used:
From left to right:  Cult Nails 'Time Traveler' & 'My Kind Of Cool Aid
It started with...

 Then I decided to stamp...
This was my first time, I decided to enter Cult Nails contest with this ;o)
A Close-Up Photo...
I was too impatient to put the top coat on so there is some smudging ;o\ I know for next time!
And for fun...
A 'far away' shot haha with my bling ^_^ *Excuse the dry hands!
So, what do you guys think? I know many of you are AMAZING stampers, I learned a lot! Vote for me on the Cult Nails facebook page, please.

Bridget

Polka Dots In The Air...

Hello Ladies,

Tonight, I was originally planning on entering the Cult Nail's contest but decided my creative juices (and my energy levels) weren't flowing. I started out with Illamasqua 'Purity' and placed different sized polka dots using various Cult Nail's shades that include 'Iconic', 'Hypnotize Me', 'Feel Me Up', 'Awakening', and 'My Kind of Cool Aid'. I'm not gonna lie, it looked horribly ugly and I'm still a bit 'iffy' as to how I feel about it. I then thought of Deborah Lippmann's 'Glitter in the Air' and Revlon's 'Whimsical' and thought to put a sheer wash over it to make the colors seem less garish. I think it helped, it's definitely interesting. I used French Tip Dip's 'B 1001' which is the sheer nude shade that comes with these kits.

I used two coats of Illamasqua's 'Purity' which was one of the most difficult polishes to use. It's VERY thick and gloppy. It easily creates streaks and doesn't blend very well. I had a really hard time with it as much as I love the color, I'm definitely going to add some thinner to this polish.

And the photos...

So, maybe I had an artsy fartsy night. It's all just in good fun anyway. I'm still waiting on my brush set from Hong Kong (it's been over a month) and I think I'll wait for them before I try any other 'nail art'. What do you guys think? ;oD

Cheers,
Bridget

Nicole by OPI 'Kim-pletely In Love'

Hello Lovely Ladies,

Today I have Nicole by OPI 'Kim-pletely In Love' which is a semi-sheer light cool pink shade with a blue opalescent shimmer. I FINALLY found this color, ok I didn't my fiancé found it misplaced at the store and surprised me with it today. Oddly enough I actually decided to put it on today to start off my week! It's a quick post!

Here are the photos... I used 3 coats.

Nicole by OPI 'Kim-pletely In Love'

I'm completely in love & have been for nearly 6 years

What do you ladies' think? If you like a pretty clean pink then you'll love this shade. How else would you wear this color? Plain or with some sort of nail art?

Cheers,
Bridget

OPI 'Step Right Up' with Nabi 'Coffee' Crackle

Hello Readers,

I don't know what got into me today but I started off with OPI 'Step Right Up' which is a very pretty pale pink that covers perfectly in 3 coats. The trick to this polish is to use as light and few strokes as possible to prevent streaking. I then thought about some sort of glitter but didn't want the hassle of removing it (even with the aluminum foil method it still takes time... and I wasn't having it today lol). So, I put a coat of Nabi's 'Coffee' crackle polish. Now, the name of this color does NOT accurately describe the shade. It's almost a dark mauve with brown undertones.

Now for the photos...

OPI 'Step Right Up!' and Nabi 'Coffee' Crackle Polish

OPI 'Step Right Up!' and Nabi 'Coffee' Crackle Polish

I think this really shows the color of the crackle

Me trying to show the color against pinks, purples, etc. ^_^

So, what do you guys think? Is crackle completely dead and out of trend or is something more muted like this still ok? lol You won't hurt my feelings, I bought some of these type of colors a while ago but never wore them. I really like this color! Hope you enjoyed my post for today!

Cheers,
Bridget
